bandwith is like a motor way there is so many lanes and the speed is the same but more cars can travel it is the same with data it doesent change the speed it adds more data .
Bandwidth is measured in bits per second they measure:
- bps – bits per second
- kbps – kilobits per second
- Mbps – megabits per second
The reason for this usage is that according to Hartley’s law, the maximum data rate of a physical communication link is proportional

Preventive :
Is to try to prevent a problem before there is a fault like running certain tests like anti-virus tests and formatting
Remedial :
If the tests don’t work or didn’t prevent the problems you wanted it to you then move on to remedial

chapter 6 is about laptops pda’s smart phones and when they were invented
the history of laptops
the first laptop was called the the grid compass made in 1979 it was used by NASA
next was the osbourne 1 it weight was 24lbs it cost $1795 / £1149.98 british pound it had a 5 inch screen
in 1983 the TRS was invented it weighed 4lbs and it was also powered by AA batteries
in 1988 the compaq slt. /286 was invented it was the first computer with vga (Video Graphics Array) this cost around $5399 or £3,450.94
in 1991 the macintosh power book 100 series was established as a form factor (the size ,weight height ) for all modern laptops
in 2006 laptops are now wireless and compact and sleek leight and a good performance
The PDA is an electronic personal organizer with tools to help organize information:

the computer is on and the cpu is running
step 1-the computer is not runnig however the cpu and ram are still recieving power
Step 2- the cpu is off but the ram is refreshed. the system is in a lower mode than step 1
Step3-the cpu is off and the ram is set to a slow refresh rate . this mode is often called save to ram in windows xp this state is known as the standby mode
Step 4-the cpu and ram are off. the content of ram have been saved to a temporary file on the hard disk. this mode is also called dsaved to disk in windows xp this state is known as the hibernate mode
Step 5-the computer is off and nothing has been saved
laptop and desktop component comparision

the difference between desktop and laptop are the components are lighter and smaller and compact so it is portable and the desktop is a chunkyer model .
the componenets makes the desktop more impact what means the desktop will get very hot that is why it has a cooling fan on top of the cpu to keep it cooler
the components in the laptop are much smaller and lightweight so it is portable there is less room for ventalation so the heat will build up
