Motherboard The only difference is a desktop motherboard has a smaller chance of overheating. The laptop motherboard has a lot more chance of overheating
Power management Desktop uses APM/ACPI Laptops use ACPI
Processor In a desktop the processor doesn’t work as good as the laptop and it takes up a lot of space In a laptop the processor works better than the laptop and it is smaller
Expansion slots / ports A desktop uses a Mini pci A laptop uses pci pcle Isa and agp
