MOBILE PHONE TECHNOLOGIES

This blog will talk about mobile phone technologies

First generation

The first generation of phones was 1g and started the services in the 1980s, first generation phones did not alot and used analog but it was a big leap for technology and it was very innotive. This phone used AMPS (Advanced Mobile Phone System) and NMT which is Nordic Mobile Telephone. The information was sent by analog signals. It information that was sent had lots of interference and weak battery life but it did what it was meant to do.

Digital signals

After analog got released and used there was DIGITAL signals which sends the information like a computer using 1s and 0s, this method was very robust and can be very easily fixed because it is either a 1 or a 0 whereas the analog signals varied and could notbe easily corrected.

Second generation

In the 1990s the second generation phones were released and they used the digital signals which were by far the better signal. For this generation there were more standards for the phone, they were GSM(Global system for mobiles), iDEN(Intergrated Digital enhanced network and CDMA(code division multiple access.

Third generation

Third generation phones could do much more than 1st and 2nd generation phones. They use stuff like texting and taking pictures and it is common for this generation to use the internet using a Global positioning system (GPS)

Fourth generation

Forth generation phones are challanged by lots of people now and use even more complicated stuff than 3rd generation phones like downloading music and other things.
