Operating systems are rapidly changing the way we use a computer every day, with new Os’s being produced and published nearly every year, we will eventually have a huge variety of operating systems to choose from to suite our needs. The main competitors in this market at the moment are Microsoft and Apple. These two companies are the two main companies that produce operating systems but there is an open source OS called Linux which is slowly becoming more popular. All of these brands produce completely different operating systems with both there advantages and disadvantages.

Operating system capabilities have reached an all time high. An operating system is the interface between the user and the computer. It provides a bridge between the hardware and applications so you can access them with ease. They create a file system that can store hundreds of files all on one computer and they can be accessed with no problems. You can manage the applications you want/need or you can purchase them. The control panel on each operating system can easily access the settings and they can be easily changed to your preference.

And the newest os that will be produced is followed on by the new internet provider Google Chrome. The new OS is called Chrome OS which provide quick startup but the newest concept is that all of your files will be saved via the internet to maximize computer performance.
