Advantages

• Stable and unlikely to crash
• Secure operating system (unlikely to get a virus)
• Pre-installed applications
• More appealing design

Disadvantages

• Expensive computer
• Expensive hardware/software
• Very different for windows users
• Can only use itunes as a music player and an ipod

Windows

Advantages

• Cheaper
• Multiple pieces of media software can be installed
• Easy to use for the common PC user
• Huge user support network
• Easy to manage photos

Disadvantages

• Many viruses are made daily
• The “Blue Screens of Death”
• Slower than Macs

Linux

Advantages

• Most software can be obtained for free on Linux
• Runs on old hardware
• Security is good
• Stable and unlikely to crash

Disadvantages

• Takes time to learn how to use it
• May not support some software
• Higher level of technical ability needed
• Not all hardware is compatible
